“Sails of the Spirit” Inspires and Energises
We continue our series of reports from around the world — today, we are spotlighting our partners at White Cane NGO, who, with the support of ROSATOM, have been running inspiring projects for several years now, encouraging people to achieve great things!
On Lake Issyk-Kul in Kyrgyzstan, the first stage of the international inclusive project “Sails of the Spirit 2026: The Extrability Movement. Choosing to Continue” took place — a regatta in which people with disabilities and athletes took part on equal terms.
Sails of the Spirit takes a genuinely inclusive approach, in which everyone is an equal participant, leader or organiser, and everyone can discover new experiences and inspire others to unlock their abilities.
Oleg Kolpashchikov, President of White Cane NGO: “For us, it is important that the project does not end when the regatta or camp is over. We create an environment in which people continue to work together after taking part — this time in their own cities and communities. For us, the main outcome is the emergence of communities that live by the principles of the Extrability Movement: people with and without disabilities discover additional abilities in one another, take on new roles, become useful to others and go on to create new events and projects themselves.”
